Credit Cooperation development in the Republic of Buryatiya
First Level Credit Cooperatives
The revival of the credit consumer cooperative movement in the Republic of Buryatia began in 2000. In 2001 a set of organisational measures aimed at creating the start-up conditions for the development of rural credit cooperatives was implemented. By the beginning of 2006, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Buryatia there are about 43 first level rural credit cooperatives and 2 urban credit cooperatives and 2000 members.
Second Level Credit Cooperative
On October 5 the Republican Rural Credit Savings Cooperative “Baikal Credit” was registered.
